Victoria Clarke Joins The Board Of Directors At The Tourism Industry Association Of Canada

During the Annual General Meeting, the Tourism Industry Association of Canada welcomed Victoria Clarke of Tourism Mississauga as the newest member of its Board of Directors.

“I am excited to welcome Victoria to the TIAC Board,” says Nina Kressler, Chair of the Board, “I know that she will bring insights from the destination perspective that will be imperative as we collectively work to grow the tourism industry in Canada.”

With a distinguished career, Ms. Clarke has been at the helm of Tourism Mississauga as its CEO since 2021. Before her current role, she dedicated six years to leading Discover Saint John as the Executive Director.

“I’d also like to thank Traci Bednard, President & CEO, Explore Edmonton, for her work over the past six years on the Board,” continues Kressler. “Traci’s contributions during the turbulent times during the pandemic were immense and helped to ensure the continued success of the industry and of our organization.”

In the same meeting, Nina Kressler, the President & CEO of the Shaw Centre, was re-elected as Chair of the Board. Additionally, Teresa Ryder, Director of Business Development at the Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada, and Jean-Francois Côté, Owner of Cotico Inc. (Hospitality), were chosen as co-Vice Chairs. The Board expressed its gratitude to Michelle Caine, Academic Chair of Hospitality at Centennial College, for her valuable contributions over the last two years as a co-Vice Chair. Michelle will continue her involvement as a director on the Board.

The Tourism Industry Association of Canada plays a crucial role in advocating at the national level for the tourism sector, promoting policies and initiatives that facilitate the industry’s growth and development.
