A Jet2 flight bound for Palma de Mallorca was forced to make an emergency landing. The incident took place at Leeds Bradford Airport on Saturday afternoon following a bird strike.

The aircraft, carrying 135 passengers and five crew members, departed at 4:29 pm BST but returned to the airport at 5:48 pm BST.

Flight tracking data confirms the plane’s unusual flight path.

Jet2 confirmed the incident, stating that passengers were safely transferred to a replacement aircraft to continue their journey.

The airline apologized for the inconvenience caused by the unexpected delay.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service declared a full emergency while the plane was in the air, citing severe vibrations caused by the bird strike on the aircraft’s engine.

However, Jet2 has disputed this claim.

Emergency services, including the ambulance service and police, were on standby at the airport.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
