FlyOnE, an innovator in eco-friendly aviation based in Australia, is excited to launch a new program dedicated to advancing women’s roles in aviation. This initiative, in collaboration with WAI Australia—a local branch of the globally esteemed Women in Aviation International—offers pilot training scholarships in Perth and Melbourne to encourage female participation in aviation.

Presently, women constitute only 5% of Australia’s commercial pilots. Through this initiative, FlyOnE aims to challenge outdated norms and widen access for women to enter and succeed in the aviation sector. The company envisions these efforts as pivotal in narrowing the gender divide and fostering a workforce that reflects greater diversity and inclusivity.

Each scholarship will fund 50% of the training expenses, encompassing classroom instructions, flight time, and examination fees up to the Solo Flight certification for one recipient in Victoria and another in Western Australia. The awardees will also benefit from practical training on electric aviation with seasoned Electro pilot instructors using FlyOnE’s electric planes. The scholarships are open to women from varied age groups and backgrounds, and no previous flying experience is necessary. FlyOnE’s goal with this program is to motivate more women to explore aviation careers and to challenge the industry’s traditional perceptions.

FlyOnE’s CEO and founder, Korum E, stated, “We are excited to launch this program and provide women with the opportunity to pursue their passion for flying. We believe that diversity in the aviation industry is crucial for its growth and success. By offering these scholarships, we hope to inspire and empower more women to join the aviation community and contribute to the industry’s advancement.”

The application process for these scholarships begins on Monday, August 19, 2024. Interested applicants can find more details and apply via the Women in Aviation website. FlyOnE is dedicated to making lasting, positive changes across various aspects of the aviation industry and believes that this program marks a significant stride toward achieving a more inclusive and diverse sector.
