Neurotechnology, a leading provider of advanced biometric solutions, has revealed today that MSC Cruises has integrated its cutting-edge Face Verification system into the MSC for Me mobile app and web portal. This collaboration sees Neurotechnology’s Face Verification SDK and Web Service seamlessly integrated into MSC Cruises’ existing mobile app for both Android and iOS, as well as the company’s web application.
The Face Verification technology by Neurotechnology plays a pivotal role in streamlining the pre-cruise check-in process for MSC Cruises passengers. It automatically captures the guest’s photo during this phase, conducted by the passenger on their personal device. These photos are securely stored within MSC Cruises’ onboard systems for enhanced security measures, and they serve as a reference throughout the duration of the cruise.
By leveraging Neurotechnology’s software components, MSC Cruises can effortlessly capture facial images directly from passengers’ mobile cameras or PC webcams. The Face Verification system ensures that these images adhere to the stringent standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) outlined in ISO 19794-5. This guarantees that the photos meet all necessary quality criteria and are suitable for MSC’s embarkation procedures.
The captured photos not only facilitate easy identification of guests by the onboard crew but also ensure optimal quality and contrast of facial images. Moreover, the system verifies that passengers are facing the camera directly, with no obstruction to their face or eyes, such as hats or sunglasses. This meticulous approach enhances both security and efficiency throughout the cruise experience.
