Hurtigruten Group has strengthened its presence in the Asia-Pacific region by making new strategic appointments across its sales, marketing, PR, and customer service teams.

According to Damian Perry, Managing Director for Asia-Pacific, the expanded team will cater to the increasing demand for the company’s two brands: Hurtigruten and HX (Hurtigruten Expeditions).

“As our business continues to evolve, we want to ensure we can best support our industry partners, agents and consumers across Hurtigruten’s Original Coastal Express and Premium Signature Voyages, as well as HX expedition cruises,” Perry says.

“Additionally, bringing our PR and communications activity in-house will help strengthen relationships with travel and news media in the region.”

Kirsty Fruin has joined the APAC commercial team as Regional Sales Manager (QLD, WA, SA) in Brisbane, following her emigration from Scotland to embrace the warm Australian climate and lifestyle. With extensive cruise and travel expertise, Kirsty’s previous experience includes roles at Fred Olsen Travel in the UK.

Christina Koullas, an experienced PR professional, has taken on the new role of PR & Communications Manager – APAC at Hurtigruten Group’s Melbourne office. With over 20 years in travel PR, including work with Spirit of Tasmania and European DMCs, Christina previously ran her own PR agency, consulting for Hurtigruten. She was drawn to the company due to its commitment to innovation and responsible travel.

The Customer Service Centre in Melbourne is expanding with the addition of Briohny Black and Laura Lund as CSC Consultants. Laura brings over a decade of experience in retail management, accounts, and customer resolution. Briohny, with 18 years in the travel industry, has previously worked at APT and Captain’s Choice, specializing in sales and tour consulting.

The Melbourne head office also welcomes Jemma Gormack from New Zealand and Emily Coltman from the UK as new Marketing Executives. Both will leverage their strong digital and marketing backgrounds, having worked across various industries, to contribute to the team’s success.
