In a move to broaden its appeal, Mysuru inaugurated a two-day domestic travel mart on Friday. This initiative, spearheaded by the India Travel Mart Exhibition (ITME), aims to transform Mysuru from a seasonal destination into a year-round attraction for tourists.
The focus extends beyond simply showcasing tourist attractions. The event serves as a platform for travel industry stakeholders to connect and collaborate, fostering a more robust travel trade ecosystem.
ITME Director Parthasarathy Raju emphasized the event’s expansive reach, with 30 kiosks featuring participants from across India and even attracting international representation from Nepal and Thailand. This travel mart marks a significant first for Mysuru.
Elaborating on the strategy, Mysuru’s Joint Director of Tourism, Savitha, explained that participating travel companies will gain valuable knowledge about the diverse range of destinations within and surrounding Mysuru. This newfound expertise will empower them to effectively promote Mysuru as a tourist hub within their respective markets.
The event brought together a diverse range of industry professionals, including stakeholders from the hospitality sector, travel and tour operators, and others invested in the growth of Mysuru’s tourism industry.
