Thomas Cook (India) Limited, a leading provider of omnichannel travel services in India, has launched the Ghar Jao Vote Karo campaign to support the 2024 elections.

Thomas Cook (India) Limited, a prominent player in the realm of omnichannel travel services within India, has initiated the Ghar Jao Vote Karo initiative in endorsement of the 2024 elections. This endeavor embodies a dual objective: fostering voter participation among citizens and acknowledging their civic engagement by offering holiday discounts along with a complimentary travel bag post casting their votes.

In the 2019 general elections, voter turnout stood at just 67.11%, influenced in part by the migration of Indian populations from Tier II and III cities to urban centers. Acknowledging the value of every vote, Thomas Cook India has crafted a campaign aimed at increasing voter awareness and motivation through incentives.

The Ghar Jao Vote Karo initiative is set to continue its mission until June 1, 2024, encouraging Indian citizens to head back to their native places where they are enrolled as voters. As an incentive ahead of the elections, participants can enjoy a Rs. 1,000 discount on round-trip airfares (per adult) upon presenting valid proof of their voter registration, such as a Voter ID or Aadhaar Card. The flight departure deadline coincides with the final day of polling.

Given that numerous voting dates align with India’s summer vacation period, Thomas Cook India has announced special post-voting holiday offers for both domestic and international group tours. Presenting their inked finger at any Thomas Cook retail outlet across the nation allows customers to avail themselves of a discount of Rs. 3,000 on Domestic Group Tours or Rs. 5,000 on International Group Tours per family. This exclusive promotion remains valid until July 31, 2024.

Given that numerous election dates coincide with Mondays, Thomas Cook’s data suggests that Indians are prone to transforming these events into “clever weekend getaways,” thus fueling the phenomenon of “Election Tourism.”
