As the world begins celebrating Pride Month, Alstom, a pioneer in intelligent and sustainable mobility, has joined forces with Pride at Work Canada (PaWC) to further its role as a leading employer for LGBTQ+ individuals and show its support for Canada’s LGBTQ+ population.

PaWC provides powerful tools and resources that promote inclusivity for LGBTQ+ individuals in the workplace. Alstom’s global workforce will gain access to PaWC’s events, educational materials, and leadership development opportunities, while Alstom’s Canadian operations will leverage PaWC’s Workplace Audit program to enhance inclusivity. Moreover, Alstom aims to attract a more diverse workforce using PaWC’s job board.

“Alstom strives to create a workplace where all employees feel respected, safe, and comfortable in expressing themselves authentically. We are confident that joining Pride at Work Canada will help accelerate our progress towards our inclusion and allyship goals,” said Michael Keroullé, President Americas, and Executive Sponsor of Alstom True Colours.

This collaboration builds on Alstom’s ongoing initiatives to foster an inclusive environment for LGBTQ+ staff. Alstom Americas hosts an employee resource group, Alstom True Colors, which includes over 150 members across the Americas. During June, Alstom True Colors organizes a virtual event named the Rainbow Train. Here, employees worldwide track their physical activity, propelling a virtual train across a global map. In 2023, 1,139 employees from 25 nations participated, covering the equivalent of three global circuits and thereby promoting unity and visibility for Alstom’s LGBTQ+ community. The Rainbow Train won the 2023 Canadian Urban Transit Association’s (CUTA) inaugural Innovation Award in the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) category.
