The MTR Corporation is happy to declare the selection of Ms. Ayesha Abbas Macpherson as an Independent Non-Executive Director of the MTR Board. It got effective from 22nd May 2024, after the support by shareholders at the 2024 Annual General Meeting. Besides, the Board has selected Mrs Lau as a member of each of the Audit & Risk Committee and the Finance & Investment Committee of the Corporation which got effective from the same day.
The Chairman of MTR Corporation, Dr Rex Auyeung, said that he would like to welcome to Mrs Ayesha Macpherson Lau to the MTR Board. With her long years of experience in the financial and public sectors and powerful community service track record, Mrs Lau will be a valuable addition to the Board, undoubtedly. He added that he looks forward to work with her in supervising the constant development and progression of MTR Corporation.
With a strong commitment to community service, Mrs Ayesha Macpherson Lau is a qualified chartered accountant. She has acted as a member of different finance advisory bodies selected by the HKSAR Government. At present, she is the chairman and a non-executive director of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority as well as eMPF Platform Company Limited, a director of the Hong Kong Academy of Finance, and a member of the Exchange Fund Advisory Committee of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority as well.
