Singapore Airlines (SIA) is set to expand its operations significantly in response to rising travel demand during the 2025 Northern Summer season, which spans from March 30 to October 25. This expansion includes increased flights and greater passenger capacity across numerous routes.

Starting March 30, 2025, SIA will offer daily flights to London Gatwick, an increase from the current five flights per week. This enhancement, combined with the existing four daily flights to London Heathrow, will provide five daily connections to the UK capital.

Between June 26 and August 28, 2025, flights to Rome will see an uptick to five times weekly, from the previous schedule of four weekly flights.

Significant changes will also occur in the Singapore-Milan-Barcelona route, which will be split into more frequent, direct flights to each city from June 24 to September 7, 2025. Barcelona will receive five direct flights weekly, a notable increase from two, and Milan will enjoy daily flights, up from four times weekly.

Additionally, service to Adelaide will be enhanced to 10 flights weekly throughout the Northern Winter 2024 and Northern Summer 2025 seasons, from the current seven. Flights to Ho Chi Minh City will increase to three times daily, and Siem Reap flights will double to twice daily.

Johannesburg will also see more frequent connections with three weekly flights from December 11, 2024, to January 10, 2025, and again from April 2 to October 24, 2025. This adjustment will raise the total to 10 weekly flights during these periods, from the current daily flights.

The Airbus A380 will be reintroduced on one of the two daily Tokyo (Narita) routes from March 30 to May 31, 2025, replacing the Boeing 787-10. Conversely, the A380 will be withdrawn from the Mumbai and Delhi routes during specific periods in mid-2025, replaced by the Boeing 777-300ER.

Finally, due to these capacity adjustments, SIA will halt its service to Houston via Manchester starting April 1, 2025. However, it will continue to operate five weekly flights from Singapore to Manchester.

Mr Dai Haoyu, Acting Senior Vice President Marketing Planning, Singapore Airlines, said: “Singapore Airlines regularly reviews our network and routes to align our capacity with demand. These adjustments, ahead of next summer, cater to the higher demand to several destinations, particularly during the traditional mid-year peak travel season, enabling our customers to confidently make their 2025 travel plans. We look forward to connecting our customers to the world with SIA’s extensive network, and delivering an unparalleled travel experience.”
