Princess Cruises is set for a record-breaking Alaska season in 2026, with eight ships, including the new Star Princess, boosting berths by 18% over 2025.

Princess Cruises is set to make history with its largest-ever Alaska season in 2026, spearheaded by the introduction of the new Star Princess.

According to the Global Cruise Ship Index from Cruise Industry News, this expansion will see an 18 percent increase in berths compared to 2025.

In 2026, Princess Cruises will operate eight ships in Alaska, including the newly launched Star Princess (2025) and the Discovery Princess (2022). These vessels will be joined by the Royal Princess, Emerald Princess, Ruby Princess, Island Princess, Coral Princess, and Caribbean Princess, representing a diverse range of fleet classes.

Departing from six homeports, this formidable fleet will offer over 24,600 berths in the Alaska region in 2026, based on data from Cruise Industry News.

In contrast, the 2025 Alaska season will feature seven Princess ships: the Discovery Princess, Royal Princess, Ruby Princess, Caribbean Princess, Sapphire Princess, Coral Princess, and Grand Princess, collectively providing approximately 20,600 berths.

Interestingly, the berth count for 2025 is lower than in 2024, despite having the same number of ships. The 2024 summer season also features seven Princess ships but with a larger average fleet size, resulting in more berths.

Comparing 2024 to 2026, Princess Cruises will expand its Alaska offerings by nearly ten percent, adding around 2,000 berths.
